2021 HIGHLIGHT PROJECT:

OPEN SEASON

Using Adobe Premiere Pro, I was able to mix and recombine various forms of media to create a new, transformative work that conveys a critique and/or commentary on an issue of today's society. Since this is a huge yet overlooked issue, I decided to base my project on the growth of violence and racism towards the Asian American community during the COVID-19 outbreak.

This 1 minute and 45 second video was made in the Spring of 2021 for an assignment in my CINE 476: Experimental Filmmaking.

This project showcases my skills as a storyteller and video editor.

2020 HIGHLIGHT PROJECT:

WHEN THEY SAY

As an attempt at an applied cut auto-détournement; I decided to hijack their "apology" and redirect the narrative to something that seems more true from their repetitive actions.

I don't often watch YouTubers but frequently come across their meaningless apologies for the same harmful comments and mistakes they make. I decided to take clips from several apology videos and rework them into a visual that makes more sense.

This 3 minute and 30 second video was made in the Spring of 2020 for an assignment in my CINE 549: Critical Practices.

This project showcases my skills as a storyteller and video editor.

SILENCED

Trigger Warning: Abuse

Silenced is an independent experimental short film that I created during my senior year of high school. After interning at San Leandro Education Foundation and working on several projects surrounding the topic of women's safety, I decided to create a film that portray what survivors have experienced.

After submitting this video to the San Leandro Academy of Multimedia's award show (the Slammy's), I was awarded as a winner for the experimental category.

This project showcases my skills as a storyteller, director of photography, and editor.
